Giscard wants EU military procurement agency

The chairman of the Convention on the future of Europe, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, called for an ad hoc structure in which money from the EU states would be pooled to be used for military spending. Refusing to reveal too much information on this subject since the working group of defence has just started its work, he nevertheless said that EU states should start contributing to the defence budget in a military procurement agency.
