Brussels' attempt to crack down on high fees when using mobile phones abroad - roaming - received a blow as it emerged that two key commissioners are against the move.
The EU commissioners for trade and for industry, Peter Mandelson and Gunther Verheugen, respectively, claim that extreme new laws could damage the competitiveness of mobile phone operators in Europe such as Orange, T-mobile and Vodafone, reported the Financial Times.
