Supporters of federalism set up new platform

Supporters of a European Federal Constitution have gathered in a new common platform, The Federalist Voice, to present the federalist case to the Convention on the future of the EU.

Environmental, social and other NGOs are gathering to be admitted to hearings with the Convention and Pro-European and federalist organisations should be given the same right, the new network said in a press release.

The network will follow the work of the Convention on the future of the EU closely and make its own contributions so that the Convention delivers genuine reform of the Union and elaborates a federal Constitution, which "can bring more democracy, efficiency and accountability for the whole of Europe."

The Federalist Voice is established by the following organisations: "European Constitution" Intergroup within the European Parliament, the European Ligue for Economic Cooperation (ELEC), the European Young Socialists (ECOSY), the Gauche européenne, the International European Movement, the Liberal and Radical Youth Movement of the European Union (LYMEC), the Réalités Européennes du Présent, the Union of European Federalists (U.E.F.) and the Young European Federalists (JEF).
