Romanian court to rule on 31 August on president's fate

Romania's Constitutional Court will decide on 31 August on the validity of a referendum aimed at ousting President Traian Basescu from office. Initially, it said it needed until 12 September to double-check conflicting statistics about the number of voters. Minimum 50% should have participated for the vote to be valid.
