Belarus authorities banned opposition leader Alexander Milinkevich on Wednesday from participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections, reports AP. The election committee claims the 2006 EU Sakharov Prize laureate forged the signatures required to become a valid candidate. Milinkevich ran against President Lukashenko in the 2006 presidential elections.
