Van Rompuy in spotlight over Flemish nationalist spat

EU council president Herman Van Rompuy is in the domestic spotlight after his wife picked a Flemish nationalist as a running mate in a municipal vote, Belgian newspapers report. Geertrui Windels-Van Rompuy, a Christian Democrat, picked former Vlaams Belang member Ludo De Becker for the 14 October polls.
