Irish EU presidency to advance youth job scheme

Ireland will use its EU presidency, beginning 1 January 2013, to advance a European scheme to help unemployed youth, social protection minister Joan Burton has said, reports the Irish Times. The jobless rate among the under-25s in Ireland is about 30%. This rises to over 50% in Greece and Spain.
