Romania warned on misspent EU funds

EU officials warned Romanian authorities on Monday that the country may have to reimburse up to €400 million in EU development aid, reports AFP. The European Commission has spotted spending irregularities and temporarily halted payments. Romanian media say some of the money was awarded to companies owned by politicians' relatives.
