Greek MPs defy protesters, back austerity budget

The Greek Parliament backed an austerity budget for 2013 defying 13,000 protesters outside the building on Sunday. The budget, which would cut the country's budget deficit to 5.2%, anticipates a further 4.5% contraction of the Greek economy and an increase in the debt burden to almost 190% of GDP.
