Water shortages to affect energy production

Water shortages increasingly threaten the viability of energy projects, the International Energy Agency warns in its annual outlook published Monday. The energy sector already accounts for 15% of the world’s total water use, the report said. It predicts renewables to become the world’s second-largest source of power generation by 2015.
