London Mayor calls for UK 'pared-down' EU status

The UK should stay in the single market but in a "pared-down relationship" with the EU, said London Mayor Boris Johnson on Tuesday (4 December). In a speech at Thomson Reuters, Johnson said a referendum should be held on the UK forming an EU "outer-tier" with Norway and Switzerland.
