EU misses deadline for joint air traffic control

A number of EU states Tuesday missed a key deadline to implement the Single European Sky legislation and replace 27 national airspaces with joint air traffic control in nine air zones. EU transport commissioner Slim Kallas threatened court action for states failing to honour their obligations under the scheme.
