EU imposes record high cartel fine

The European Union Wednesday slapped its biggest ever antitrust fine of €1.5bn on seven companies – including Philips, LG Electronics and Panasonic - for rigging the cathode-ray tubes market. Over 10 years top managers fixed prices and divided markets at so-called 'green meetings', often ending in a round of golf.
