Parliament closed for a year over ceiling damage

Plenary sessions at the European Parliament in Brussels have been suspended until November 2013 with repair work to the building's ceiling set to take longer than expected. The chamber in the Paul Henri Spaak building was closed after the summer when cracks in the wooden beams were spotted by officials.
