French actor gives up passport to avoid taxes

French actor Gerard Depardieu, who recently moved to a border town in Belgium, says he will give up his passport to avoid paying taxes to the French state, reports the BBC. The French state requires anyone who earns above €1 million to pay a 75 percent tax rate.
