German government says banking supervisor in line with EU law

BERLIN - "It's our strong belief finance ministers found a good solution on the banking supervisor. We wanted a solid legal basis, that is why it took so long," German government spokesman Steffen Seibert said Monday. The Bundesbank expressed legal concerns over a "mediation committee" to be set up within the ECB.
