Italy ex-intelligence chief jailed over CIA rendition

Italy's former intelligence chief, Nicolo Pollari has received a nine-year sentence over his involvement in a CIA extraordinary rendition case. US agents kidnapped an Egyptian cleric in Italy in 2003. He was flown to Afghanistan, tortured, and released several years later without charge. Pollari is expected to appeal the verdict.
