Moody's strips UK of its top rating

Moody's ratings agency late Friday downgraded UK's triple A status by one notch, citing sluggish growth, rising debt and expected difficulties in passing austerity bills. Germany remains the only large EU country to keep a triple A rating after France was stripped of its top rating last year.
