EU commissioner urges greater respect for migrants

EU home affairs commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom in a speech in Florence on Thursday urged politicians, businessmen, academics and media to counter new "xenophobic, populist and even racist movements" against migrants in Europe. She noted that the EU needs new blood to help fill labour shortages in its ageing societies.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania
