France scraps online piracy law

France repealed its Hadopi three-strikes out law aimed to discourage people from downloading pirated content off the Internet, reports the Guardian. Suspects were given two warnings before having their Internet cut in a third warning. The law was introduced in 2009 by then president Nicolas Sarkozy.
