EU signs Morocco fishing pact

The EU and Morocco signed a fishing agreement on Wednesday despite opposition from the Western Sahara, a region annexed by Morocco and never recognised by the international community. The agreement entitles mainly Spanish vessels to fish off the disputed coastline. The EU is paying Morocco €40 million for the deal.
