Five EU states form Baltic high-speed train venture

Representatives of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Poland reached an agreement Tuesday evening in Brussels on forming a joint venture, Rail Baltica, to build a high-speed 240km/h railway, LETA/Postimees Online reports. The nations will keep ownership of the Rail Baltic infrastructure as a precondition for attracting EU funding.
