EU revisits emissions tax on air traffic

The European Commission Wednesday revived plans to charge airlines for emissions resulting from flights over European airspace. The move represents a retreat from existing plans of payment from all planes using EU airports and for emissions for the full duration of flights, something foreign airlines have refused to accept.
