New car engine pollution emissions higher than standard models: study

A study conducted by Germany's TUeV Nord independent vehicle researchers found that new generation gasoline direct injection (GDI) petrol engines emit about 1,000 times more particles than standard petrol engines, reports Reuters. GDI emits harmful carcinogens and is also ten times more polluting than new diesel engines, it found.
