Increase in Europeans fighting in Syria

The number of Western Europeans fighting alongside rebels in Syria is said to have doubled from around 600-800 before the summer to around 1,200-1,700, reports the AP. Most new recruits are from Belgium, France, Germany and Sweden and come from second-generation immigrant families described "as secular and fully integrated."
