EU 'negligent' over US data scandal says Deustche Telekom boss

René Obermann, chief executive of Deutsche Telekom, has accused the European Commission of being "negligent" and "pussy footing" around the US government following the NSA-surveillance scandal. EU governments should tailor their data protection rules to Germany's standards, and renegotiate the Safe Harbour data exchange agreement, Obermann told German daily Handelsblatt.
