MEPs approve emissions 'backloading' scheme

MEPs Tuesday voted in favour of measures to revive the EU's flagship green policy, the Emissions Trading Scheme, currently suffering from a market glut. Under the deal, the auction of some CO2 permits can be frozen, a move meant to raise their price and boost low-carbon innovation investment.
