Letta backed on 18 months of reforms

Italy's Prime Minister Enrico Letta won a confidence vote by 173 to 127 in the Senate on Wednesday, allowing him to embark on 18 months of institutional reforms aimed at creating economic growth. The package also aims at redefining the parliament structure, transforming the Senate into a regional chamber.
