Greek unemployment nears record high

Greek unemployment figures in September hit a near record high at 27.4%, reports Kathimerini. The record is 27.5%, reached in May. Greece is in its sixth year of recession and has 1.37 million people officially out of work. The youth remain the worst affected with a 51.9% jobless rate.
