European Parliament aims at banking union deal by May

The European Parliament aims to reach a deal with member states by May on a new authority with powers to tell failing Eurozone banks to shut down. "We want to reach an agreement before the European elections. It will be hard, but not impossible," Parliament chief Martin Schulz said Tuesday.
