US is spying on off-line computers, report says

The US National Security Agency has implanted software in nearly 100,000 computers around the world which allows surveillance even if they are not connected to the Internet, reports the New York Times. The programme, code-named Quantum, has also tapped trade institutions inside the European Union, says the paper.
