Croatia pledges to cut budget deficit

Croatia, in its sixth year of recession, Thursday said it will increase taxes and cut spending in an effort to meet an EU budget deficit target of 4.6% of gross domestic product, reports AFP. The centre-left government will cut healthcare spending, reform the pension system and cut public sector jobs.
