Christmas shopping fell in euro area

Christmas shopping in the euro zone dropped 1% in December 2013 compared with December 2012, according to new estimates from Eurostat. In the EU28, shopping grew 0.1% in December. The retail trade in 2013 fell by 0.9% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU28 compared to 2012.
