UN calls referendum in Crimea invalid

The UN General Assembly Thursday approved a resolution declaring the Crimean referendum on 16 March that led to the peninsula’s annexation by Russia as having "no validity” and saying the parties should “pursue immediately a peaceful resolution of the situation.” One hundred nations voted for the resolution and eleven against.
