Italian minister criticises Merkel's "short-sightedness" on EU vote

Italy's junior minister for EU affairs Sandro Gozi has criticised Chancello Merkel's "crippling political short-sightedness" after the German leader again questioned whether the lead candidate of the top EU party after the EU election should automatically become European Commission president. Gozi said it potentially "undermined" voter turnout, reports DPA.
