Hungarian turnout hits record low

Voter turnout in the European Parliament elections has hit a record low in Hungary. Half an hour before polling stations closed at 7pm local time, less than 30 percent of the electorate had cast their ballot. In the 2009 European Parliament elections the turnout was 36 percent.
