Grillo warns EU funding to Italy 'goes to mafia'

Beppe Grillo, leader of the Italian anti-establishment 5-Star Movement, urged Tuesday in Strasbourg the EU to stop giving money to Italy because it goes to the mafia. "The funding disappears in three regions, Calabria, Sicily and Campania and therefore goes to the Mafia, 'Ndrangheta and Camorra (crime syndicates)," he said.
