German anti-euro MEP fails to get committee vice-chairmanship

The head of the German anti-euro Alternative fuer Deutschland party, Bernd Lucke, failed to gather the necessary votes to become vice-chairman of the European Parliament's economics committee. Lucke is a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists group and got 21 votes in favour, 30 against, while six MEPs abstained.
