No immediate EU assistance for Italy on boat migrants

Italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano on Tuesday repeated calls for EU's border control agency Frontex to take over Italy's Mare Nostrum mission rescuing migrants crossing the Mediterranean. EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom who met Alfano in Milan refused, saying "Frontex is a small agency and cannot take over Mare Nostrum tomorrow."
