China's per person carbon emissions overtake EU

China's carbon emissions per person have surpassed the EU's, according to new research published Sunday by the Global Carbon Project. China produces 7.2 tonnes of CO2 per person compared to the EU's 6.8 tonnes, contributing 29 percent of global emissions. The US remains the top per-person polluter on 16.5 tonnes.
