MEPs reject Hungarian commissioner in culture role

MEPs on the culture committee Monday rejected Hungarian nominee Tibor Navricsics to be culture, citizenship and education commissioner but agreed he could be in the EU executive. A compromise may emerge whereby his portfolio is tweaked but discussions are likely to merge with those on other at-risk commissioners.
