Oettinger criticises French budget again

Germany's EU commissioner Guenther Oettinger has repeated warnings that France must curb spending and reform its job market or risk EU penalties. "It's also a question of credibility," he was quoted saying by Spiegel on Sunday. The EU has given France, Italy and Belgium until March to fix their budgets.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
