Latvians have voted with by an overwhelming majority to join the European Union.
In a referendum on Saturday (20 September), 67 per cent voted in favour of EU membership, while 32.3% voted against, according to the provisional results released by the Central Election Commission early this morning.
The turnout was 72.5% - slightly more than in the last general elections.
