Austria: European Parliament election results 2004

AUSTRIA - 18 seats.

The opposition social democrat party (SPÖ) were slightly ahead of the ruling conservative party (ÖVP) in the Austrian vote. The far-right FPÖ lost heavily, while the independent anti-corrpution candidate Hans-Peter Martin spectacularly ended up third. The Greens also had a strong electoral performance.
