Ireland would lose influence through treaty rejection

Former ECB Executive Board Member Lorenzo Bini Smaghi has told Irish broadcaster RTE that Ireland would lose influence if it rejects the fiscal compact treaty in a referendum - due to be held before summer. “If a country votes no, it loses influence in European matters," he said.

EU's proposed ethics body 'toothless', say campaigners
