Eurozone appointment delayed by Merkel departure

A deal on reappointing Jean-Claude Juncker as head of the Eurogroup was not formalised on Friday because Chancellor Merkel had to leave early for a vote in Berlin. "We were not complete by the end of the meeting, so we could not take this decision," council chief Van Rompuy said.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania
