Health commissioner resigns over tobacco row

Maltese EU commissioner John Dalli, in charge of health and consumer protection, has resigned over allegedly favouring a Maltese tobacco producer with a ban on certain tobacco products. The EU's anti-fraud office concluded its investigation on Monday without finding proof of bribes, but said Dalli was aware of dodgy dealings.
