Pahor wins first round of Slovenian run-off

Former Prime Minister Borut Pahor claimed a surprising victory in the first round of Slovenia's presidential elections on Sunday. The centre-left Pahor won 40%, ahead of conservative incumbent Danilo Turk's 36%. Slovenia is in the second year of recession with its leaders battling to avoid an international bail-out.

EU set to probe Ikea tax affairs

Swedish founded furniture retailer Ikea has reportedly been targeted by the European Commission, which is set to launch an investigation into how tax schemes in the Netherlands allegedly enabled it to avoid paying into public coffers.
