Ashton welcomes Gaza ceasefire

EU foreign affairs boss, Catherine Ashton, has welcomed the ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. In a statement released Wednesday (21 November), Ashton added that she would “commend in particular the efforts of Egypt and all those who engaged in mediating between the parties.”
