Merkel ally says up to Italy to decide on staying in euro

Italy may decide to exit the euro or take other drastic action, Rainer Bruederle of Germany's FDP party has said. Italian elections showed rising opposition to austerity measures but 'the decision to adjust to the common currency is one that Italy has to take for itself,' he said, Reuters reports.
